Tim Zumpolle's opinion on inhouse-counsel
“I am convinced that the people make the difference between one renowned firm and the other. As a member of the Board of a large law firm, I considered managing and selecting (top) talent to be crucial to bring about success. This requires good advisers and particularly a relationship based on trust. The people assisting you at the front door cannot be opening the back door at the same time. ZumpolleVanderStoel has a strict policy on exclusiveness and off-limits, which is in line with our focus on long-lasting and close cooperation with a select number of clients.”

Scipio's opinion on advocacy:
“The role of the legal and tax departments has changed dramatically. The in-house counsel has become spectacularly more important and, by now, often has a claim on a permanent place in the board room. This requires different selection criteria. A view on the interaction between the company and society is at least as important as a purely legal (or tax) background. An executive search consultant should assess the candidates differently and be able to motivate candidates to walk off the beaten tracks. I’m using my twenty years of experience in financial services and utilize a large personal network to help clients and candidates who are looking for a vision on people, companies and markets.”
